Cass CountyCass County is located in central Minnesota, and covers 2,018 square miles. The county includes more than 1,000 lakes and many additional streams and wetlands. Based on the 2000 census, more than 27,000 people live in Cass County. In 2002, Cass County developed a Comprehensive Land Management Plan to guide development with respect to population trends, recreation opportunities, business interests, and natural resources within the county. Included in this plan are goals for the management of surface waters within the county. The Outdoor Corps program has been active in Cass County since 2003 and has sampled several lakes in the county during that time. For water sampling results, select a lake from the list on the right.
