Upper Mission Lake, Crow Wing County (ID 18-0242)

Upper Mission Lake is located in central Crow Wing County, north of the city of Merrifield. The lake is 817 acres in size, including 256 acres of littoral zone. Upper Mission Lake reaches a maximum depth of 36 feet and is connected to Lower Mission Lake through a channel.

Water tranparency in the lake averages eight feet and may occasionally affect recreational activities on the lake and its aesthetic enjoyment. The lake supports populations of walleye, northern pike, blakc crappie, largemouth bass, bluegill, green and pumpkinseed sunfish. The lake was recently stocked with 17,496 walleye fingerling in 2001. Lower Mission Lake was also previously stocked wiht walleye during the 1990s.
