Florida Lake, Kandiyohi County (ID 34-0217)

Florida Lake is located in central Kandiyohi County, near the city of Spicer. The lake is 674 acres in size, including 267 acres of littoral zone. Florida Lake reaches a maximum depth of 40 feet and supports populations of walleye, northern pike, black crappie, largemouth bass, yellow perch, shortnose gar, bluegill, green and pumpkinseed sunfish. There is a fish consumption advisory for Florida Lake which should be consulted before consuming any fish from the lake.

Florida Lake has moderate water quality parameters, with excellent recreational ratings throughout most of the year. At times, decreasing water quality creates minor aesthetic problems, but has little impact upon recreation activities on and around the lake. Water transparency in Florida Lake has averaged between 12 and 8 feet each summer.
