Lake Francis, Meeker County (ID 47-000200)

Lake Francis is located approximately 2 miles northeast of Kingston and is 921 acres in size. 871 acres of the lake are classified as littoral area.The lake actually straddles Meeker and Wright counties and the Outdoor Corps Program worked on the Meeker County portion.

Water transparency averages 6 feet in Lake Francis and has abundant aquatic vegetation. In general water quality in the lake is good and the lake supports a diverse fish community including northern pike and largemouth bass. A lake survey conducted by the Minnesota DNR in 1996 showed good numbers of game fish and a variety of non-game and minnow species. There is a fish consumption advisory for the lake.
