Lake Jennie, Meeker County (ID 47-0015)Lake Jennie is located south of Dassell and covers 1,056 acres. The entire lake is classified as littoral area - the maximum depth of the lake is 15 feet. Substrate in the lake includes sand, silt, and gravel. Plant growth extends to a depth of 8 feet. Curly leaf pondweed is abundant in the lake and can impact recreation on the lake. Swimming and and other activities in Lake Jennie are also affected at times by algae levels within the lake. Water transparency averages between 4-6 feet. Jennie Lake supports fish populations, including crappies, green sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. The lake was stocked with 1,210,550, walleye fry in 1999, 1,060,858 in 2001, and 1,059,200 in 2002. Low dissolved oxygen levels in the winter affect the abundance and diversity of this fishery, but usually do not result in winter kills. There is a fish consumption advisory, however, which should be consulted before eating any fish from the lake.
