Lake Washington, Meeker County (ID 47-0046)

Lake Washington is located south of Dassell and covers 2,639 acres. Nearly the entire lake, 2,454 acres, is classified as littoral area. Although large, the lake is relatively shallow - the maximum depth of the lake is 17 feet. Eurasian water milfoil is present in the lake and all equipment would be checked for aquatic vegetation before entering or leaving the lake.

Water transparency in Lake Washington averages 3 to 5 feet. The reduced transparency is due in part to algae levels in the lake. At times this algae slightly impairs swimming, boating and aesthetic enjoyment of the lake. The lake supports populations of crappies, bluegill and pumpkin seed sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. A fish consumption advisory is in place for Lake Washington, however, and should be consulted before eating any fish from the lake.
